Vetted means a Yarko reviewer checked this factory’s application, export basics, and red flags — it is not a government licence, credit rating, or quality guarantee.

Yarko does not hold factory trade funds. Buyers pay factories directly. We are not escrow, not a bank, and not a marketplace of record.

We hold a factory’s contact details and do not release them to a Buyer until the Buyer asks for an introduction, the factory agrees to share, and our team confirms both. The same works in reverse: a factory doesn’t get your details until you’ve asked for the introduction.

Once introduced, you deal with each other directly. Details shared through an introduction are for that sourcing conversation — not for marketing lists, and not to be resold. That’s a term of use, not just a preference.

Because Yarko does not hold or guarantee funds, protecting your payment is your responsibility. A few practices that reduce risk:

Verify a factory’s business registration and export history independently before sending payment, even for a Vetted factory.

Be cautious of last-minute changes to bank details or payment instructions — this is one of the most common trade-fraud tactics. Confirm any change by a channel you already had, such as a call to a number you already knew, not one supplied in the same message.

Check that the bank account name matches the company name on the contract and invoice. A mismatch, or a request to pay a personal account or a third-party company, is worth stopping over.

Use payment methods that offer some traceability or recourse where possible, and be cautious of requests for full payment in advance of any production milestone.

Consider staged payments tied to milestones — for example deposit, pre-shipment inspection, balance — rather than paying everything up front.

If something feels off — pressure to move fast, reluctance to answer questions, mismatched company details — treat that as a signal to slow down, not a reason to rush.

If a Buyer or Seller believes a factory has misrepresented itself, or an introduction hasn’t gone as expected, email trade@yarko.trade or contact us through your buyer account or seller application and describe what happened. Include anything that supports it — messages, invoices, photos.

We will review the report and may investigate, request more information, or act under our Terms of Use: pausing a listing, unpublishing a video, withdrawing a Vetted badge, or closing an account for misuse.

Yarko is not a party to your transaction with a factory and cannot recover your money, enforce your contract, or resolve a commercial dispute over price, quality, or delivery on your behalf — but a pattern of reports about a specific factory affects whether that factory remains in our pool, including its Vetted status.

Our review of a factory application checks four things: business registration — confirming the company is legally registered and in good standing; export history — evidence the factory has actually shipped goods internationally before, not just claimed the capability; screening — the company and its declared owners are checked against sanctions and watchlists; and public red flags — litigation history or repeated complaints that are a matter of public record.

Vetted status reflects that review at a single point in time. It is not a factory audit or site visit, a product-quality or social-compliance inspection, a credit check, or a verification of the specific goods you plan to order — none of those are part of standard review, and none are implied by the badge.

Vetted factories can submit a short video introducing themselves. We edit it to a standard format, add English subtitles, and publish it — publicly — on this site and on our YouTube channel. Anyone can watch, and search engines will index it.

Videos are published only with the factory’s specific agreement to public publication, which is separate from agreeing to an introduction. Videos don’t show a factory’s website or direct contact details — those stay behind the introduction process.

The figures shown on screen — capacity, minimum order quantity, lead time, certifications — come from what the factory submitted to us, not from translated speech. Treat them as indicative and confirm them directly with the factory before you rely on them.

If you appear in a video and don’t want to, email trade@yarko.trade and tell us which video — you don’t need an account to do this. We’ll take it down or re-edit it. You don’t need to give a reason, and we won’t tell the factory you asked if you’d rather we didn’t.

Short version, so there are no surprises:

We don’t hold your money or act as escrow.

We don’t inspect factories, audit them, or check product quality.

We don’t guarantee a factory’s solvency, capacity, or delivery.

We don’t handle shipping, customs, or trade finance.

We don’t negotiate, contract, or resolve disputes on your behalf.

We don’t check whether the product you’re sourcing is legal to import or free of third-party IP rights in your market — that’s yours to confirm.

What we do: find plausible factories for what you need, check the basics, and make an introduction when both sides agree.

We collect what we need to run the service: your account details, what you send us in a sourcing request or a factory application, and billing metadata from Paystack or PayPal. We don’t sell it, and we don’t pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Sourcing-request content is treated as confidential and shared with a factory only to the extent needed to see whether it’s a fit. For anything genuinely sensitive — detailed drawings, proprietary specifications — put your own NDA in place with the factory after the introduction before you send it.
